History of engines

A while ago i saw this video about the evolution of engines. This has interested me for a while and for quite some time i have been meaning to write about it and share it. This video goes through many types of engines and how they work. Its truly amazing to see how much engines have evolved and how complex some are and how simple others are. here are my favorites the video touched upon.

history of engines

Steam engine.

  • external combustion engine.
  • works by using steam from boiling water
  • The expansion propels the pistons because steam occupies more volume then water

Stirling engine
  • external combustion engine
  • Similar to the steam engine except works from temperature difference which forces the air to expand and contract which drives the piston

Jet engine
  • An internal combustion engines
  • works from fuel being injected and mixed with lots of compressed air
  • The gassses mix and ignite
  • the ignition creates a large expansion of gas which spins a turbine
  • this spinning is then used to restart the loop by grabbing more air to compress

Building a stirling engine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JWbnpCKH1M
Here is a step by step instructional showing how i built a stirling engine. before starting let me emphasize the whole system must be as airtight as possible or it may not function.
Here are most of the main materials i used.:

  • The displacer piston is Styrofoam cut out to just fit inside the cylinder which is a tuna can
  • the power piston and cylinder are test tubes. One must fit perfectly in the other to function. as a substitute a semi loose balloon on a bottle cap would also work
  • The metal rod that comes out of the displacer piston must fit perfectly inside of the part it will slide through. i used whatever i could find however brass tube from your local hobby shop tends to work well. The seal must be airtight

I now attached the piston rod to the displacer piston. The displacer piston itself should be a little more then half the length of its cylinder

I now attach the power piston's cylinder to the displacer cylinder with a brass tube

  • I put the displacer piston inside the cylinder.
  • the can going over it has a hole where the connecting rod will stick out.
  •  I also have a metal piece that has an airtight fit with the rod so no air will escape.
  • After this all that's left is building the crankshaft with a clothes hanger.
.
To finish off the top can is glued to the bottom one . Next the crankshaft and all the connecting pieces are built and attached . A counterweight is added to counter balance the weight of the pistons. a crank shaft is also added in the end

Finding topics to blog about for an informative blog

Now we move onto blogs that focus on a certain topic, niche or target a specific group of people. These blogs may be about cars, houses, a hobby or anything. These present a slightly more systematic and thought out approach to creating posts because of their refined nature.

Break it up

If your blog focuses on a specific topic you are very confined because there is only so much possible on that specific topic, however, there may be more then you think. Try starting off with a general post. If my blog is about car, i might start off with something general about car modifications. That covers one day and is a short brief post. In that post you may briefly talk about engine, brake, intake modification and so on . Now, for the next few days you can talk about each of those subtopics that was originally mentioned in your first post and explain why someone would want that and what effect it would have on the vehicle. After that each of those three posts can be again split up. For brakes you could now talk about disc brakes, drum brakes, and electromagnetic brakes, their pros and cons and why they are effective. The post for each of those subtopics would take up a day as well and would include pros and cons and its benefits and talk about it in detail. After that for all of the subtopics you could also do another post on the current brands available, which one people should get, how to install them and even show it step by step. As you can see this one general topic branches out to many other topics and on top of that, car modifications,  is only one topic within the large domain of cars, so the same could be done for buying a car, or maintenance on cars. This same method can be applied for any blog all it requires is a little initial planning and writing it all out before u start posting. Just remember to link all the topics to the subtopics and vice versa so that people can easily navigate from the generals to the specifics.

Keep it short

As you could imagine the method just discussed could give you alot of posts. However, they only work if you keep your posts short. Remember people don't like reading, this post here for example, is bordering on long. So to keep your posts short, do not go off on tangents. You may start to talk about a side topic if it is related but don talk about the related topic too much. Its best to mention the the related topic goes into more detail in another one of your articles and post the link to that article. In the case that you are trying to do the previous method described, be sure to keep the posts short and to the point. If you are writing about one of the general topcis and plan to make more specific posts and link to the general one, be sure to make sure the general ones stay general enough that it is worth the reader's while to jump to the specific one.

Get an idea from someone else

First collect all your ideas using the previous method discussed. After that, ask around to family for posts they think would be interested in that topic, then after that search some topics online that are related to what you blog about and see if you can find any inspiration for new things that you have not yet written about.

Now that you have  way to generate more ideas, you should consider blogging as often as your schedule allows. Check out why its important to blog daily.

If you don't have a blog that focuses on a specific topic and have a blog that focuses more on ideas you have or how your day went, it is a little easier to come up with post ideas. To see how, check out how to come up with posts for a journal blog

How to come up with ideas of what to blog about for a journal blog

Having a blog it is good to blog as often as possible, mostly every or every other day because ultimately the more you blog, the more viewers should get. The problem is when you are working your blog up and trying to make it big, you star to run out of good ideas that people will actually like.

Making Posts For  Journal Blogs

Well lets starts off with the easy way of finding an idea and this depends on the type of blog you have. If you have one of those, well call them journal blogs, it is fairly easy to find stuff. That type of blog focuses primarily on what you did today, something interesting you found out or learned, and idea you had, and epiphany that came to you about society. Those are fairly straight forward, just go about your daily routine and as long as you do anything semi productive you should be able to come up with something. The odd days where you don't, you can always talk about a story from the past as if it happened that day (a white lie) or maybe share some insight that you learned in the past through an experience or from a person. One thing to make sure of thought, is keep your posts not too long. As they start to get lengthy you may find that people are not reading them and you run out of material faster. If necessary split it up to a few posts and drop a link to fully tell a story and stretch it over 2 posts

If you have a blog with some specific topic, such as a certain hobby or niche, it gets harder and requires a more systematic approach.  To learn how to come up with ideas for blogs that target a niche or focus on a specific topics

Now that you know how to get post ideas you should also consider blogging as often as possible. Click to see why it is important to blog often.

Some ideas of what happened to the missing malaysian plane

As authorities continue to search for the missing plane and guess at what happened to it i have a few ideas of my own.

Hijacking is a highly probable cause of the disappearance. This would account for the change in direction and turning off of radar. A mere hijacking, however, does not explain why no terrorist groups have claimed it to be their doing. This may be though, that the terrorist group does not require people to know. The average terrorist attack is for revenge or to get attention and none of that would happen if people don't know who it was. A possible reason for this is that the terrorist group does not want people to know. Well in what case would this take place though? Well this might be the case if the terrorist group did not need to kill or scare but simply needed a plane for some purposed. This might be to transport a bomb, turn the plane into a bomb etc. This would be logical for the terrorists to do because in many of their countries they wouldn't have everything needed to make a plan. Another fact that supports this is there are many small islands in the nearby area where a plane could land and be put under a structure.

Another possible outcome of the flight might be that it was military related. According to families of the passengers the Malaysian officials continuously gave them contradictory information. On top of that the officials let search parties look for 4 days in one area and then told them the plane had turned around and was spotted in another area. This behavior is extremely suspicious and suggests they might have been hiding something. If the military accidentally shot the plane down due to some miscommunication, high military tensions, or if they were hiding something, they would want to hide that. This would also explain why it took 4 days to inform search parties they were looking in the wrong place. As the plane was on its flight path they switched trajectory, this may have been because of a small issue that would cause them to leave their path and land somewhere else. As they went back on an angle, the Malaysian military might've been doing some secret project or maybe was just suspicious of them and shot the plane down. After shooting them down they would've had 4 days to clean everything up and destroy the evidence and once that was complete and things were discussed, they would have then told search parties they had seen the plane somewhere else.

Why you need Creativity in your blogging

As a amateur blogger trying to expand your client base, you must face the truth that you may not be the best writer out there, have the best research/proof and your not at the top of Google either. That means if someone is searching for a general topic that many websites cover, your will not readily appear. chances are your article isn't the best and its not the first one people see therefore it wont really get many views. Think of it as opening up a small burger joint beside a McDonald, it just wont work. Instead you have to sell something totally different. Instead of a burger joint beside a McDonald's you might open up a mortuary so you and McDonald were in no way competing. And even better they might be helping you hahah. Then you are not at competition with the McDonald's. This is where creativity comes in. If you wish to surpass the competition with the limited resources you have, plus the fact they have a head start, you need to think outside the box. When you cant beat people at the popular topics, blog about something interesting but not so popular and more niche. this however requires lots of creativity and brainstorming. The perfect idea that is a mix of creative, different and interesting does not merely just present itself you you. It really has to stand out too. You must think and plan out ideas to talk about. Ultimately the new and original ideas will  pay off because you have stopped trying for the same market as the big blogs and website, you will have found something productive, interesting and helpful and it is that, which will ultimately get you ahead

Why its important to blog daily

As a blogger, we always want more and more views and followers. To obtain that, blogging daily is one way you can make that happen but ill go in and explain just how bogging daily or every other day actually help you accomplish that.

Blogging daily or every other day helps you get natural views. Natural views are essentially views from nature. Haha just joking, they are actually views that continue to come and does not come from advertisements. These views come as a result of search engine optimization. One of the things search engines look at when ranking your website is how often and regularly a website is update. That means search engine optimization(click to hear more about SEO) will help you get more views.
they like it more if you post often and stick with it not one week on and one week off. In the end,

Another way it helps is because the more often you blog, the more things there are for people to look at and be interested by. This helps you retain customers and gain them. Natural posting every day will give you mor posts then posting once a week. as a result of this you have more posts out there to be found by people. On top of that when people go to your blog and gain an interest for it, they are more likely to return if something cool and knew comes out daily.
