A steam engine is an engine that we don't normally see many of in modern society, with new more efficient engines that have replaced it. But we mustn't forget our past and remember that steam engines can still be potentially useful today and not just for learning purposes.

A steam engine is an external combustion engine. Along with the stirling engine, they are the only engines that can be powered with combustion happening outside of it. This rare quality allows it to be powered by any form of fuel sch as wood or coal. with rising gas prices and lessening oil we may need to resort back to the steam engine. Luckily we are far from that day so we still have time to modify the steam engine in ways to make it more efficient. Considering we stopped using and advancing o steam engine technology practically after the 1920s there may be many new changes we can do to the steam engine with all the modern marvels of technology. back to the rare quality that steam engines are external combustion engines they can powered by many sources of heat or steam such as the sun heating water or leftover heat from gas engines. Steam engines like the one i built are very interesting t learn from and examine operating but they can also be used to generate electricity o do other work like i demonstrated in the video. Now i know what your going to say, my steam engine is just a prototype i made for fun but unbelievably there a better ones out there that can be used with your car to harness that lost energy. Cars can also be constructed with steam engines so they can burn any type of fuel, solid, liquid or gas. We are far from needing to implement these changes, but we musn't forget that the man of the past's junk, can be the treasure, of the man of the future
