Employee evaluations are a import part of every business and company. As the goal of almost every business is to genrate income, employee evaluations are key to accomplishing. The goal of employee evaluations is to raise efficiency and this is done through judging employees' strengths and capabilities, helping employees grow and develop, and providing both positive and constructive feedback
Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, That is a fact of life. it is important for businesses to constantly asses these strengths and weaknesses of their employees to ensure that employees are in the position that suits them best. In many cases as well, people don't have the ambition, drive or the time to apply to another position that may better suit their strengths. Because of this it is important that companies be proactive and constantly asses the strengths of their employees so that if need be, they can have their job altered. This in turn will increase efficiency, quality of the work and employee.
another way to increase the efficiency through employee evaluations is to provide direction to employees. In many cases if an employee has not been doing a job for a long period of time they will be doing certain aspects of the job not as efficiently as possible. An employee evaluation can help workers be more efficient by possibly pointing out different or better ways to go about their tasks.
communication as well poses a major barrier in companies and it is said that 95 percent of problems can be avoided by proper communication. Employee evaluations are the perfect way for employers to communicate their needs and thoughts to employees . this may help redirect employees on a path that is more direct, it is similar to when one tells a long story. After some time and focusing on some small details. the story telling may digress and forget the point of the story. an employee evaluation is the perfect way to put employees who have wandered off back on track,
To keep an profitable, efficient company up and running one of the biggest things employers can do to help the business is to have employee evaluations. they increase the efficiency of the company and workers by providing direction to employees, enabling employees to perform their best and providing them constructive feedback

Thoughts on David Suzuki's comments about Canadian immigration
When people compare the United
States of America to Canada . One of the main differences
in our cultures that is almost always pointed out is that America is seen as a melting pot of cultures
where as Canada
is seen as a diverse mosaic of rich cultures.
In David Suziki’s recent comments, he mentions that Canada should
not accept so many immigrants because it will drain the country of its
resources. But contrary to Suzuki’s belief, this country was built upon
immigration and that continues to be one of the best things we have to offer,
our rich mix of cultures. Not only do we
pride ourselves on being accepting of different cultures but we also greatly
benefit from immigration economically. Most of all Canadian born people had the
luck of being born into a comfortable first world country. Many other on the
other hand, did not have the luck of the draw and instead were born into a
third world country. It is up to us as Canadian citizens to let others in
because we could have very we not had the luck of being born into a first world
country
It is often said that you become who you hang around with.
That is why it is always good to get new ambitious immigrants in the country,
both to help the economy grow, but to also inspire other Canadians to be more
ambitious.

How video has transformed the web and its future
When I look at how video has transformed the web, there are
four key things that come to mind for me. The most apparent is the availability
of information. Users regardless of where they are located in the world have
access to thousands of videos.
The explosion of video growth on Youtube has created a level playing field for all
economic groups. Regardless of people's financial
status or where they are located in the
world. A desire can quickly be converted to instant knowledge. Students can
learn anything from Astro physics to baking a cake. The choices are endless. It's
a well known fact that children that come from a more privileged background are
usually at an advantage. Often children that live in third world countries, or
children that live in rural communities in Canada can find themselves at a
disadvantage. Things taught in more suburban schools or more affluent areas such as, biology, or computer programming may
not have been available to all. With Youtube if there is a motivation then
their is a means to obtain that knowledge.
Next is cost savings, this area is especially usefully to
students like myself, who have a very limited budgets. The cost of text books,
and education have sky rocketed, but it is a necessity for all students if one
wishes want to succeed in today's society. At the same time, at no time in
history has obtaining information been so accessible. And nothing has come
close to saving consumers as much money as videos. One of the most cost saving
devices that was ever discovered is Youtube. People no longer need to pay
thousands of dollars a year for tutors or mechanics, all you need to do is pull
up a video. Previously if a student didn't understand a certain math concept at
school, they would have to leaf through books
or the internet, to get the answer. Today's students are encouraged to go to
Khan academy which offers a wide variety
of classes. Khan academy and videos have been the building blocks for changing the face of learning. Unlike paying for a
tutor videos bring free tutors to you.
Saving money has always been important, but equally
important is the way the information is presented. Information has always been
available in text format . All
individuals had to do was scan though text to get to it. With videos, learning is a user friendly. It has been most
often said a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is thousand of moving pictures, its seamless and
it user friendly. It is a tool that works for everyone regardless of your age 2
or 100. If you want to learn something
there is no learning curve for the user. All individuals have to do is engage
their sense of sight and hearing, which is a natural process. In a text
tutorial their can be and the user may be unsure if they mean this bolt or that
bolt. Then their is the option of having have illustrations or images. However its imposable to take a picture for every
movement. Video shows every movement and
every second of every step and best of all you have the option of rewinding it
to make sure what you have done is correct.
This final point is often overlooked. Videos are one of the
most cost effective advertising vehicles out there. Youtube accesses millions of
people world wide at no cost. Need to find drummer for your group? Go on Youtube. Looking for someone that makes
hand woven blankets, Youtube gives you
choices of blankets from the natives of Africa to natives of Canada . Do you
have a talent for creating exceptional hairstyles and want to attract more
clients? There is no better place than Youtube. Lets not forget the success
that Models and actors have been having by show casing there talent. One such
actor was Canada 's very own Justin Beiber who
was discovered after he posted a video on Youtube.
In light of the speed with which technologies advances, in
the future I see videos becoming more customized to suit individual needs. User
will be able to interact with video. For
example if they are watching a cooking tutorial on utube, and they don't have eggs,
they will have a a smart system can can quickly find alternatives. Live streaming
will become more common. People will have the opportunity to become more
engaged with other users watching the same video. The user will have their own screen divided so
they can have multiple conversations and videos. For example instead of using Skype
an individual in Canada can go on Youtube
and join a exercise class taking place in the U.S. In one section of the screen they can see the
teacher teaching the class, the teacher can in turn see them. In another window
they have the option to open another window to see their friend riding, or see a stranger that has accepted an
invitation to connect via video link to them. Essentially, i see video as a
medium of information transfer that has just started and wont be going away any
time soon. it will grow an will continue to grow and become more advanced and
interactive in the future.
a company that has taken advantage of the growth and benefits of video is oneinchpunchpro. Check out their website to see more about what they do http://oneinchpunchpro.com

The biggest factor to living a successful life
This applies to everyone in all aspects of life whether you are a student, business owner or employee the most important thing you need to do to be successful is to not procrastinate.
Let me start off with a story, i know a guy, he reads an enormous amount of books on business and marketing strategies, essentially everything. He had lots of ideas to do stuff for his current business to boost his customers etc or to start new side business but each time he thought he wasn't prepared enough and said he would need this or that. He wanted to make videos on youtube and use that to gain a customer base but his excuse was he needed an expensive professional camera and a perfect backdrop and the list goes on but it was all too expensive and he eventually went bankrupt from just being to meticulous to start anything.
So a piece of advice, don't try to be a perfectionist off the start. In most cases it doesn't matter where you start you just need to start somewhere. At that point as you move on through your rough plan you can perfect certain aspects as you go along your way. You will also notice you encounter many obstacles whether you spend a year to plan or start instantly. Its best to do the latter because the sooner you start the sooner you can learn from your mistake.
SO how to apply this, will start somewhere like i said, If you want to start a business but it seems so big then start whatever you have figured out. Things like that can seem as a bug daunting task and a large risk and you may think oh what if it doesn't work i wont have a job or this or that.Well thats exactly the flaw with people. By start somewhere small that means don't leave your job. start by putting in work on the side and go on from there.
In my life i have an example of how this worked for me. I started with a hobby and interest in building things and built stuff very often. I beat around the bush for a while then at some point someone in my family convinced me to upload a video. i continuously uploaded bit by but, and didn't get any views. After a while i came back and i had gotten some view. 2 years from the day i started i now get over 1000 views per day, started a blog so my youtube and blog could both help me get more fans. THen somewhere along theline i founmd i liked business to so incorporated that into it all. Next i may start advertising products myself, making an online store of products or things you might need to do the stguff in my videos. ANd even if it takes a while to get buyers, its often not a bug commitement to just try. Its as easy as signing up for eBay. all because i decided to start somewhere. Eventually with dedication, time and learning from your mistakes things start to expand and ideas will come to life

Why business skills are handy for life in general
As the population of the world continues to rise competition for all aspects of life becomes more stiff and cutthroat. To be successful, you must one way or another rise above the intense competition. Education, knowledge, and looks however can only take you so far, but in the end it all comes down to how well you can sell
Going into an interview for any semi respectable to respectable job, competiton will be stiff. In the end it comes down to whoever would be best suited for the job gets it. But how would one define who is best suited. Well you cant, its essentially the proffesional opinion of the hiring manager that ultimately decides. This is where selling comes in. Wen applying for a job you are not simply stating your qualification but you are trying to convince an employer that they need you. You are essentially selling yourself as a package to them. This consists of everything from your personality, to giving off what type of person you are, to your qualifications. In the end the person who gets the ob is the one who gets the employers attention, knows how to discretely exagerate but most of all convinced the employer that they need them.
THis is one situation of how something other then a product might make you money and as an end result be more successful. However the same ability to sell is key in all aspects of a competitive life. This may range from getting a big contract for your business to indirectly convincing someone you deserve something like a raise.
finally sales skills has its more direct benefits too. As i mentioned before, competition is extremely stiff in this economy. This means that not everyone can become doctors and engineers. All the other manual labor or desk jobs are all that lefts and you can safely say that almost all of them including being a doctor or engineer wont give you enough money to be a millionaire and live like a movie star. The only thing that can possibly get you there with the exception of that .0001 percent chance of becoming a musician actor or sports star, is business. A business on the side is always beneficial and more specifically an internet based business. This gives you the ability to target many people around the world and will ultimately give you the best chance of making it big. but even if you don't, its still extremely hard to get ahead. A business on the side, however, is one of the best ways to do so

Alexandria steam engine
A while ago i ran across a video of an Alexandria steam engine. The Alexandria steam engine was one of the very first engines or motors ever recorded with history and descriptions that date back to the first century ad.
This intrigued me because it was a fairly simple engine that seemed to be pretty effective for the time.
Surprisingly the Alexandria steam engine was the fastest spinning engine for a long period of time even into the age of the internal combustion engines. what makes these engines able to spin so fast is that they can constantly spin in the same direction and no components need to turn around. A normal steam engine or gas engine for example has pistons that change direction less then every second. The way the Alexandria steam engine works is that the large bulb is filled with water. When a flame is lit underneath, the water boils and due to steam taking up more area then water, all the stem expands and pushes its way out of the tubes which propel it in the opposite direction
